Faith No More - Album Of The Year

Around 1995, with the release of King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime, Mike and the rest of the band realized that Faith No More was dying, but they still had some songs they wanted to put out there. So they kicked out Trey Spruance, got Dean Menta, kicked him out too, before recruiting Jon Hudson of Systems Collapse on guitar. And for the most part, he's pretty good.

Faith No More is a dying old man, so what's there left to do?

Go out in class.

'Collision' will practically break open your ear drums if you turn it on full blast, especially the opening. And will scare the life out of you if it's your first time listening. It's a song about why Mike no longer drives, after last time he drove, he almost killed him, Trey Spruance, and Mike Bordin, I believe.

'Stripsearch' is an electronic song with some metal thrown in near the end. Mike's vocals are amazing clean. The song is possibly about how Mike dislikes the members in Faith No More, as evidenced by him singing "F for Fake", a subtle line, but still.

'Last Cup Of Sorrow' is a rock song with a great keyboard-riff. Also possibly about how he disliked the members of Faith No More with lines such as "This is getting old, and so are you". The whole song is about dealing with your sadness, but something just strikes me as the song being about how Mike will still be famous after Faith No More, due to all his other bands, and the other members won't be anything. Like he's rubbing it in their faces.

'Naked In Front Of The Computer' is a song about how Mike feared the internet and computers back in 1997. It's some fast punk.

'Helpless' is kind of a quiet song about being just that. Helpless. I like it, though.

'Mouth To Mouth' definitely reminds me of a Mr. Bungle song. No one really knows what it's about.

'Ashes To Ashes' oh goodness... if you have to hear ONE song by this band, let it be this one, such a powerful song. I love how his voice explodes in the chorus. It's about wanting someone so badly, or drowning someone.

'She Loves Me Not' seems to be a parody of R&B groups such as Boyz II Men. It's pleasant.

'Got That Feeling' is a high-paced rock song. Filled with chanting and cockiness.

'Paths Of Glory' is a slow song with Jon Hudson singing back-up vocals behind Mike. It seems to be about war.

'Home Sick Home' is a rock song, but it really isn't that memorable.

'Pristina' is the most emotional song they've ever done. It's about two lovers seperated by war, only to find out the other one has died. And the one who has survived is grieving the loss, while the one who is dead keeps on wanting to tell them that they'll always be with them, no matter what, and to move on. This song has made a lot of people cry.

7/10

Good bye, Faith No More. You were amazing, and so ahead of your time, even now.
