Blink-182 - Dude Ranch

blink-182, dammit, tom delonge, mark hoppus, scott raynor, dude ranch
The now influential pop-punk band has returned with their second album, 'Dude Ranch', with a bit better production quality and more experience in the field of making music and working together, along with better melodies and singing.

The band remains the same, Mark Hoppus on bass and vocals, Tom Delonge on guitar and vocals, and Scott Raynor on drums.

blink-182, dammit, tom delonge, mark hoppus, scott raynor, dude ranchThis album certainly has some of their most memorable songs within their fanbase, like 'Dammit' and 'Dick Lips', but sadly, it may be just me, but some of the other songs aren't that terribly memorable.

Everyone seems to have improved from the first album, with Mark getting better at singing, Tom getting better at singing (but leaving a bit to be desired), and Scott getting faster at drumming, but the album still has a bit of that raw production quality that isn't too raw for me, but prevents me from fully enjoying it like they intended.

Don't get me wrong, if you like Blink-182 more than the average fan, this should be in your collection. This is one of their more 'punk' albums, which I really don't feel comfortable calling them punk, but y'know. It's less pop-like than their later work, but you can see a bit of a transition to pop throughout this album.

Overall, I don't have much to say about this album. Some fans absolutely love and adore it, and while I do like it more than I used to, with realizing that there's some good songs on here, I'm just not crazy about this album.
