Fashion Trends :Short / Mini Tops-A Daring Trend for Spring / Summer
Missoni
With a clear inspiration from flounced dresses, Italian brand Missoni offer us its Spring / Summer 2012 collection which, of course, also includes short tops.
Miu Miu
The Italian brand Miu Miu offer us interesting looks that include high-waisted skirts and tops showing a very thin section of skin.
Nina Ricci
When you see the pictures of these tops from Nina Ricci, maybe you have to ask yourself: Are they really tops… or bras? Well, that’s the question.
Oscar de la Renta
Who says that those bombastic looks with big skirts cannot include trendy elements -such as short tops-? Well, apparently Oscar de la Renta, as seen in the picture below, was able to mix a trendy top with an elegant (really?) skirt.
Prada
It’s known that Prada is a respected trendsetter every season… and this season won’t be the exception. In the Prada Spring / Summer 2012 collecion there are two remarkable features: High-waisted skirts and some bandeau-shaped tops. A pair of elements that catched the attention on the runways.
Proenza Schouler
Proenza Schouler is also participating in this party. In the picture below, we can see a pair of stylish looks with tiny tops. What do you think? Definitely they are not for cold days, right?
Versace
The new Versace collection for Spring / Summer 2012 is inspired by sea themes. Actually, the Versace fashion show would be cool if a song of The Little Mermaid is played while the models are on the runway… for example, that song called Under the sea (ok, just kidding ).
But seriously, the Versace SS 2012 collection is fantastic (see the Full Fashion Show here). It’s a collection full of studs, sea-inspired details and, of course, our topic here: tiny tops.
Viktor & Rolf
The Viktor & Rolf Spring / Summer 2012 collection was very criticized due to its exagerated style. In this collection, some bold colors -such as fuchsia pink- were used in tiny tops with strange designs and some details in red. Of course, there is no accounting for taste. Do you like these tops from Viktor & Rolf?
In conclusion, What do you think about this new trend? Do you think that it will be adopted by common people? Although Spring is almost here, maybe Summer is a more appropriate season for this kind of top. And who knows, maybe this year is the time for a small “revolution” in the fashion world. We’ll see.
