Now, That's a Bow Worth Keeping! Ribbonesia's Sculptural Animal Bows.

Ribbonesia is an art project by artist 'BAKU' Maeda. Turning ordinary ribbons into animals and animal heads since 2008, the sculptural bows are a beautiful example of talented artistry and handiwork.




Shaped like bears, panda bears, foxes, lions, horses, frogs, seals, birds, dogs and more, Ribbonesia has also begun to sell wearable bows and created a board book of their creations.















I bet none of your Christmas or Hanukkah gifts have bows this pretty.

It's Snowing Star Wars! 10 new DIY Star Wars Paper Snowflake Templates for 2011.

This year, one of my most popular posts has been my 2010 how to make your own Star Wars snowflakes (Darth Vader and a Bobba Fett/Clone snowflake) as taught by a husband and wife team.

Well, now it's snowing Star Wars!
Two more designers, Anthony Herrera and Chaunce Dolan of Matters of Grey have jumped on the paper Star Wars Snowflake bandwagon and provide us with ten new Star Wars paper snowflake templates for 2011.

A new Darth Vader, Yoda, R2D2, C-3PO, Scout Troopers, Storm Troopers, Clone Troopers, Admiral Ackbar, Ashoka, and Boba Fett snowflakes you can make yourself with some paper, a pair of scissors, a downloadable template and a little help from The Force.

Retro 80's Items Made Entirely Out of Cut Paper by Zim and Zou.

Thanks to an interview in Don't Panic, I've discovered the paper crafts of Zim and Zou, aka Thibault Zimmermann and Lucie Thomas.



The French Graphic Design studio proposes a contemporary approach of design thanks to a mix of different fields such as paper sculpture, installation, graphic design and illustration.



Their latest project, Back to Basics, uses bright colorful paper crafted into icons from the 80's such as Polaroid cameras, giant clunky Motorola phones, floppy disks, Sony Walkman, casettes and more.
